Pregnancy Journaling at Baby Makin(g) -- 37 Weeks!

Cara Terreri, LCCE, CD(DONA)

Jenn over at Baby Makin(g) Machine is now 37 weeks along and looking great! If you haven't already, take a minute and check out her weekly pregnancy posts. I've seen many variations of pregnancy journaling and love what Jenn has been doing. Each week, she takes a photo of her pregnant self, in the same shirt, and writes a letter to her baby in utero. In each letter, she writes about everything from pregnancy dreams to her latest nursery purchases and craft-making. When I was pregnant with my first, I took the standard profile belly photos and kept a notebook with thoughts and details of my pregnancy. It has been fun to look back on and was especially helpful when I was pregnant with #2 to compare the details of the two pregnancies (boy, were they different!).If you aren't journaling your pregnancy, I strongly encourage you to do so. Even if you start journaling at 38 and-a-half weeks and you just jot down a few notes in a spiral notebook. One day down the road you'll forget the minutiae of your pregnant days (after kids, you forget a whole lot!) and you'll cherish having a record of the event, as will your children.
