Giving Birth with Confidence

Mother's Day Gifts for Pregnant Moms

Cara Terreri

Celebrate the pregnant moms in your life this Mother's Day! Even if they don't yet have other children running around at home, a pregnant mom is still a mom deserving of recognition on Mother's Day. The question is, what kinds of gifts would a mom-to-be enjoy?? Of course, there's the standard card and gift card combo, but if you want to do more, we have some suggestions that nearly any expectant mother would appreciate.

Mother-to-be Mother's Day Gifts

Subscription box - A "subscription" isn't just for magazines anymore... now you can subscribe to almost anything you can imagine! From maternity clothing to skin products, from crave-worthy snacks to books... pick a subscription box that best suits your Mother's Day recipient.

Massage - Cliche? Sure. Adored by nearly everyone? Yes. Be sure to get a gift card from a masseuse/facility that performs prenatal massage.

Childbirth classes - Maybe I'm biased, but this might just be the best gift you could give. Give the gift of education, confidence, and peace of mind -- priceless for expecting parents.

Meals - Whether you cook 'em yourself, give gift cards to favorite restaurants, or gift a meal delivery service, meals are almost always appreciated by expectant parents, and of course, new parents. Time and energy run low during pregnancy, which means that meals become an afterthought. This gift will help expectant parents eat better so they can feel better!

Maternity clothes - Pregnant moms often complain about not wanting to spend money on new maternity clothes. Give a gift card to a local maternity clothing store, online shop, or if you know the person really well, curate a cute outfit (with a return receipt, of course).

Photography - If you have a lot to spend and want to really surprise your pregnant recipient, spring for a maternity or newborn photography package. Be sure you know whether or not they have already purchased a photo package, and if they have a photographer in mind before you move forward with this gift idea.

Cleaning service - "I can't wait to clean the house today!" said no pregnant person ever. I know very few people who like to clean and even fewer pregnant people who do. Give the gift of stress-free cleaning by purchasing a one-time cleaning or a series of cleaning packages.

New pjs for postpartum - Most new parents practically live in their pjs during the weeks after birth. Why not help them do it in style and comfort with a cozy new set of pjs? Give one set to wear during pregnancy and one for postpartum!

A splurge item - Know of something on your favorite mom-to-be's ultimate wish list? Maybe a pair of high-end flats or a fancy diaper bag? Surprise her with something on this list and you'll be remembered forever.
