it's absolutely great! disturbing, but excellent---and not a dull slog either. i think everyone needs to read this, pass it on to every pregnant woman they know (shower gift, perhaps?), and then write to oprah to get it made into an oprah bookclub book! let's get the word out there!

I'm about 3/4 of the way through it. Block really nailed it, and she is a good writer to boot, which is always a plus. Here's hopes that her work spreads beyond the "choir." -- Henci |

I got this one from the library, and it IS a good one. I highy recommend it. I plan to read it a couple of more times before I give it back and eventually buy it for myself. I also wanted to comment on how wonderful it is to have such a treasure of knowledge as yourself readily avaliable "in person", so to speak. I am very glad I've found these forums, now I just can't wait until I can afford to buy a copy of "Obstetric Myths Versus Research Realities". I've been dying to read that one for at least a year. Thank you Ms.Goer! |

Thank you for your kind words. FYI: The first edition of Ob Myths is sadly outdated, but my co-author, Amy Romano and I are in the home stretch of completing the manuscript for a top-to-bottom brand new book. In the meantime, sign up for postings to the Lamaze sponsored blog, Science and Sensibility. -- Henci |
