Get Involved: March for Moms - May 14, 2017

march moms.jpgThe United States has the highest rate of maternal mortality (mothers dying within 42 days after the end of pregnancy) among all industrialized countries. The highest. More than 50% of those maternal deaths are preventable. The state of maternal and infant care in the United States is a national crisis.

For these reasons, a grassroots coalition of parents, concerned individuals, and maternity care experts have come together out of outrage and dire concern for the maternal and infant care crisis in the United States. March for Moms was formed with the intent to seek national attention by investing in and supporting moms. More specifically, their mission is to nationally highlight the power of thousands of individuals, on the Washington Mall in Washington, DC, on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017, by publicly and peacefully demonstrating concern with a rally for maternal and child health. During the event, key speakers will deliver a clear message of urgency to improve the health of women, children, families, and of our nation as a whole. March for Moms is nonpartisan and does not represent interests of any singular professional group, entity, or association. They represent consumers and health providers to voice a shared platform, demanding national dialogue to improve care for mothers and babies.
