I am wondering about the management of the third stage of labor.  I would like to avoid the routine use of pitocin after the birth to aid in expelling the placenta, and I do not want the cord traction either.

Could you tell me of some "proof" or studies that show that this is a good, viable option, so that "IF" I encounter resistance from my OB, I have some ammo.
