Remember last summer when I posted about a client who I was encouraging to interview various care providers including midwives, after a CPD/FTP primary c/s?

I am delighted and thrilled to announce that she had an unmedicated HBAC after ~36 hours of labor last week, and her son was born 10 lbs 8 oz with a 15.75" head... (so much for CPD with her 9 lbs 3 oz daughter!!!). It was a joy to serve her, and she and her husband did great!!!

She is so peaceful and joyful, emotionally- this has been a tremendous blessing to her!

And a few days before her birth, I attended another VBAC, this one an unmedicated hospital birth after FTP c/s with her 2 year old son. Two in a week- yippee!!!

P.S. Henci, do you have any public speaking engagements in July anywhere? I have no clients due in July and was hoping to go soak up some birth professional wisdom and fellowship somewhere for a weekend... By: delilahdr1

It is so nice to hear a couple of good birth stories! I am very happy for your clients, and it is also good for those of us who are struggling with trying to change things. For me, at least, when all I see, hear, and read is bad news (this black-is-white, upside down idiocy that major abdominal surgery is better than vaginal birth comes to mind), it gets harder and harder not to slide into thinking of things in terms of "Them" versus "Us" instead of as the individuals we all are.

As for July speaking engagements, as it happens I do have one, but it's in Australia. I'm really excited about the opportunity.
