Hello Hency,
Can you refer me to info about Factor V Leiden and especially if someone wanted a homebirth?
At the rate things are going in hospitals, someone might be better off at home even with a high risk status. Seems like 3rd stage management is all wrong in the hospital and this would cause more problems than not.
Thanks,
maria.

I'm sorry. This isn't something that I know about. You might try searching PubMed and seeing what you can find. If you don't know how to set up searches or don't want to figure it out on your own, there is a tutorial on you can access by clicking on it in the sidebar on the left.

I have given birth with Factor V Leiden. I was also beginning to show signs of preeclampsia, though... so things were a little more difficult for me. They induced me with Pitocin when I was 36 weeks and my BP started to elevate. Because of the BP, they put me on an IV and made me stay in bed with things on my legs to augment my circulation. I did it without pain meds--an epidural wasn't an option because of the Lovenox and I will not take any narcotic pain meds. DS was born in 26 hours. I'm really hoping to avoid induction this time around... Sorry I couldn't be more helpful about the birthing center/homebirth possibilities with Factor V. Hope this tells you something!
