Please feel free to add to this list.

* There shall not be an IV. Hydration shall be limited to water, or to a drink (without alcohol or excessive caffiene, of course) brought in by the patient.

* The only drug, if any at all, used to stop convulsion or nausea shall be Phenergen.

* Measurement of dilation and effacement shall be performed only when the patient announces she has internally wagered they are complete. The patient shall have the option of measuring herself.

* The patient shall be provided with headphones to listen to an audio rendering of the fetal heart monitor. A music track chosen by the patient may optionally be mixed in. As the patient shall be assumed to understand what she hears, the staff shall not announce any monitor results except to seek approval for a C section.

* C section shall not be performed unless the patient approves it after being asked and having 60 seconds of contemplation. The staff shall not prepare for the C section in any visible way unless and until the patient approves.

* The right side of the bed shall be higher than the left side.

* There shall not be a circumcision except for religious reasons.

* Except in cases of obvious fetal health emergencies, the patient shall have immediate custody of the newborn, unless she chooses not to hold it because of a sensory issue.

* The patient shall have the option of returning home to deliver her placenta.
