Childbirth Connection has repeated and improved on the U.S. national survey of women's experiences in birth they conducted in 2002 this time with women having babies in 2005. I almost wrote "giving birth" in 2005, but when you read the Executive Summary or purchase the full report--which I highly recommend--you will see that American women don't give birth, they are delivered. According to the report, only 2% at most experienced all of Lamaze International's "normal birth" care practices. Even more shocking than the statistics in the report is the complete lack of interest by the media. This should be front page news. Maybe some of you normal birth activists out there want to see what you can do to rectify that.

Nothing comes up when I click on the links, Henci. The area where it should be on CC is empty.
I would very much like to comment as do women I know!

It is there now.
How would one go about bringing these issues to the media though?

Hmm. How's about sending Childbirth Connection's press release to media outlets along with a cover letter on the importance of this issue?
Any other ideas out there? Promotion isn't my strong suit.
