| I am looking for the rates of occurance for the adverse effects to mothers and babies listed on the drug insert for pitocin. Is there any literature on this? By: Jess |

Apologies, but I'm trying to finish up a project with a hard deadline. I'll respond as soon as I can.

OK, I'm back online again. For information in non-medical terms, here is the info on oxytocin on Medline Plus, the government database for medical information for the public. This does not give rates of occurrence, however. I tried to find a web version of the Physicians Desk Reference, AKA the "PDR," which lists information on all drugs for medical professionals, but I couldn't. Well, not exactly. I got onto the publisher's site, but you have to be registered, and while I didn't follow through, I don't think it's free. Your local library is likely to have a copy in its reference section. It may not give incidence rates either, though. One other option is to see if you can connect with a friendly labor & delivery nurse and ask her to get you a copy of the package insert. I wish I could have been more helpful.
