Childbirth Educator Program Scholarship
Lamaze International offers up to 10 scholarships per year for up to $500 to help cover the cost of enrolling in a Lamaze Accredited Childbirth Educator Program. These costs include program tuition, application fees, enrollment fees and study materials. Five scholarships are awarded in the spring and five are awarded in the fall. All applications for the spring awards must be received by January 31. All submissions for the fall awards must be received by June 30.

To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must be a Lamaze member in good standing, enrolled or planning to enroll in a Lamaze Accredited Childbirth Educator Program, and must submit a typed statement demonstrating financial need and their plan to promote the Lamaze Philosophy of Normal Birth. Experienced educators and Midwifery Fast-Track candidates who attend Lamaze Accredited Childbirth Educator Seminars are not eligible for consideration. Scholarship recipients are selected by lottery from a pool of applications that meet the eligibility requirements. Scholarship recipients from the previous year are not eligible to apply.

Certification Exam Fee Scholarship
Lamaze International offers up to 10 scholarships per year to cover the cost of taking the Lamaze Certification Exam. Certification Exam Scholarships are worth up to $195 or the member rate of the exam. Five scholarships are awarded in the spring and five are awarded in the fall. All application submissions for the spring must be received by January 31. All submissions for the fall awards must be received by June 30.

Lamaze Annual Conference Scholarship
Lamaze International offers up to 10 scholarships per year to help offset the cost of attending the Lamaze Annual Conference for those who are in financial need. Up to five $500 scholarships are awarded to North American attendees and up to five $1,000 scholarships are awarded to international attendees. Selected scholarship recipients who live within a 100-mile radius of the conference location receive a complimentary conference registration in place of the monetary scholarship. The scholarship deadline is June 1 recipients will be notified by July 1.

To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must be a member in good standing and complete a personal statement including the following information:

• Statement demonstrating financial need
• Outline of applicant’s total budget for attending the Annual Conference and how s/he will finance the remaining fees, lodging, travel, meals and away from home expenses if selected to receive scholarship
• Description of applicant’s promotion of the Lamaze International mission and vision
• Description of applicant’s plan to share the Annual Conference experiences and learning after returning home
