The Lamaze Institute for Normal Birth was launched to support initiatives that provide credible, relevant and useful information about normal birth to
birth professionals and the public. A key initiative of the Lamaze
Institute for Normal Birth is to support expectant parents from underserved or vulnerable populations. Eager to
have a healthy pregnancy, birth and baby, these mothers are often at a loss to find
accessible and affordable Lamaze childbirth classes in their
communities. In turn, Lamaze educators may lack the resources to reach out
and provide services to these populations. Since 2003, the Lamaze Institute for Normal Birth has given numerous
mini-grants for community-based outreach programs throughout the United States.
The Goals of the Community-Based Outreach Mini-Grant Initiative
The Community-Based Outreach Mini-Grant Initiative is designed to support Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educators and Lamaze Approved Providers who currently provide or would like to expand their Lamaze childbirth education services to underserved or vulnerable populations.
The Lamaze Institute for Normal Birth offers five $500
grants annually for provision of Lamaze childbirth education services to underserved or vulnerable populations.
Eligibility
Recipient Eligibility
Applicants must be either:
- Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educators who are current members of Lamaze International, or
- Lamaze Approved Providers, currently in good standing.
